International News: Boating Vacation Club International

12.03.2010 | Allgemein, Markt

World launch of online boat exchange club at Dubai International Boat Show.

BVC International, the world’s first global online boat exchange club, has introduced a unique concept in boat exchange at the Dubai International Boat Show with the launch of their new website, www.bvcinternational.com. BVC (Boating Vacation Club) International is an exciting new service hailed as ‘The Future of Boating’, and is designed to provide access to hundreds of boats worldwide via an innovative, user-friendly online exchange network.

“The BVC system is extremely flexible, so our members are not tied down to exchanging in one particular geographical area,” explains Alan Gulliver, (BVC International Europe Division). “BVC International is also simple and sophisticated. Once boat owners have signed up to the service online they can choose the dates that they wish to make their boat available for use. They then build up day by day credit when their boat is used, which can be spent on using another boat in any destination they wish, on dates that suit them via the BVC interactive world map.”

BVC International facilitates the use of boats in the BVC network by contacting the owner and requesting the dates identified by the member wishing to use the boat. If available, the boat is booked and confirmation sent via email, leaving the member to organise travel and arrange boat handover with the owner. The Club enables the exchange of like-for-like boats that fall into the same size bracket; categories range from 0-9ft right up to 100-150ft.

Gulliver continues: “The aim of BVC International is to create an online global boating community. We see it as a cost-efficient alternative to chartering and a way to get more from the often considerable investment that owners put into their boats. It’s a way of opening up the world to boat owners so they can enjoy the oceans and waterways worldwide and not be confined to the cruising area where they live or where their boat is moored.”

BVC International membership is an extremely cost-effective solution with a year’s membership typically costing less than a single day’s charter of a boat within the same class bracket. Prices for one year’s membership start at AUD $350 (approx €230), with 3 and 5 year membership packages also available. All applicants to BVC International are extensively checked and verified with only fully licensed, fully insured boats and owners becoming part of the exclusive exchange network.
