International News: Sunreef Yachts: Sales rising
11.05.2010 | AllgemeinSunreef reports strong growth in 2009.
By IBI Magazine. Poland’s Sunreef Yachts has revealed that production turnover reached €28.1m in 2009 — a 1.8 per cent increase over the €27.6 that was generated during the previous year. The company is expecting turnover to remain at this level in 2010, with 10 deliveries for large yachts over 70ft in length scheduled for the current year.
Sunreef’s in-house charter agency, Sunreef Yachts Charter, also experienced growth, with net sales rising by 30 per cent to €2.3m. The company, which now has over 1,700 yachts in its fleet, is expecting charter growth of 50 per cent in 2010.
”Our success to date comes from our focus on innovation and from our extended range of produced yachts,” says Nicolas Lapp, Sunreef’s vice president. ”In 2008, we launched two new yacht models, the 70 Sunreef Power and the Sunreef 70 Sailing that have already been sold in several units.”
Earlier this year Sunreef launched its first superyacht, the Sunreef 102 Double Deck Ipharra. The second mega catamaran, the Sunreef 114 Che, is now being finished at the shipyard with delivery scheduled for the end of May 2010.
“We have also redesigned our flagship yacht, the Sunreef 62 Sailing, the new version of which is currently under construction and whose first unit will be launched at the beginning 2011,” says Lapp. “At the same time, we are now designing new, performance catamarans range over 80ft in length with the first Sunreef 80 Ultimate designed for a client.”
As for Yacht Management services, Sunreef generated income of €81,000 and is forecasting growth of 30 per cent in 2010.
The company has also revealed that it is increasing overall production capacity with the acquisition of 16 hectares of land in Gda?sk Wi?linka. A new 24,000sq m purpose-built manufacturing facility is due for completion and occupancy in 2011/12, enabling Sunreef to build yachts of up to 50m.
“One of the significant investments for 2010 will be the construction of moulds for the 60 Sunreef Power and the Bluereef 87, two new yacht models scheduled for 2011,” Lapp adds.
